Magome-juku
February 24th, 2010 - Magome-juku (馬籠宿) is an ancient road that connected Kyoto and Tokyo during the Edo period. It was the forty-third of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendō trail running through the Kiso Valley. This well-preserved section of the old route is in the present-day city of Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Tsumago-juku (妻籠宿) was the forty-second of the sixty-nine post towns on the Nakasendō. It is located in Nagiso, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
