Nagoya Festival 2012
October 20th, 2012 - This annual festival celebrates the three most famous, feudal-era samurai heroes to hail from the Nagoya area (Oda Nobunaga from Kiyosu-cho, Toyotomi Hideyoshi from Nakamura-ku and Tokugawa Ieyasu from Okazaki-city) the procession of floats are the biggest attraction of the two-day event. The parade also features their wives, people who were contemporary with them, dancing teams with taiko drums and traditional costumes, marching bands, etc. parading down the street in Nagoya's central district of Sakae. This year's event also had several stages of local bands/singers/performers to entertain everyone... the 'local idol' stage attracted biggest crowd!
