Orchid Gardens
February 13th, 2010 - The Nagoya Orchid Garden also known as Ran no Yakata Orchid Garden, is located just a short walk from the Nagoya Yaba-cho station. It was opened in 1998 and the garden is a new attraction in the region. The garden features many orchids and other flowering plants and is home to more than 250 different species of orchids.
The orchid garden has a fairly large greenhouse and several exhibit rooms surrounding a walled-in garden with walkways leading to a small pond and flowerbeds. Rare orchids from different tropical regions of the world are grown in several small climate-controlled huts set up within the garden. Indoor and outdoor cafes can be found in the park and many events and seasonal exhibitions are held throughout the year.
The orchid garden specializes in orchids and other flowering plants. A pleasant outdoor beer garden and grill can be enjoyed during summer. The entry to the place is free during the Nagoya festival and people from around the world can enjoy the beautiful sight of orchids in bloom. A trip to the place provides a break from the urban commotion and provides peace and tranquility. The beautiful native flowers from Japan, Asia and other tropical regions found in the garden make it a delight for the orchid lovers.
